Completing our 11th hour Press Pack of Judges for the Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year Competition 2009 we would like to extend a warm welcome to Bob (Robert) Barclay.
As an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and a member of The Master Photographers, Bob is in great demand and very busy with his own professional photography business, but also manages to run the Readers’ Masterclass for the Amateur Photographer Magazine.
As regular readers of the AP magazine will know, Bob gets to take three amateur photographers through their paces on a specific photoshoot.
Bob has been a professional photographer for over 39 years spanning a career in Fleet Street as a staff photographer with The Press Association, Daily Telegraph and 19 years with the Express Newspapers.
Over the years his technical expertise, a love of photography and an easy going manner has secured him many front page exclusive photos along with an extensive picture library of celebrities.
He has covered every type of news and feature assignment from the Royals, politicians, disasters, pop stars and celebrities to Presidents in the White House to the slums of Soweto. and Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland.
An award winning photographer, Robert Barclay had his photographs exhibited in the World Press Photo Centre (The Hague, Holland), Focus (NEC, Birmingham, UK) and the Hooper Gallery (London, UK). Robert Barclay had his first one man exhibition at the art Gallery 238 in 2004.
